As we known, there are 335 、020 side emitting single color led strip on market several years ago. For the normal pixel side emitting color led strip was made of the ws2811 IC to run the 020 led.
Currently, PWM driver assembled in side view LED named sk6812 side 4020 RGB LED is born which could make addressable side view pixel led strip.
There are 60/72/90/120 leds in a meter.
